This is the fastest hard drive in the world

The US manufacturer Seagate has announced this week the fastest hard drive in the world using HAMR technology (acronym for the words in English Heat Assisted Magnetic Recording ).

The Mach.2, which has been named by the company, is a magnetic hard disk (HDD) much more resistant and secure than conventional ones and offers twice the performance of a standard hard disk, as it is found in the specialized portal Tom’s Hardware .

In fact, it has achieved the record speed of data transfer of 480 MB / s, while in a disk of 7,200 revolutions per minute (the fastest of commercial) that transfer is 235 MB / s.

These new units are more focused at the moment for data centers , although they may also end up being oriented toward domestic consumption as well.
