Ewan McGregor and his estranged wife, Eve Mavrakis, reunited recently to celebrate the graduation of their eldest daughter.
Clara McGregor, 22, shared a photo on Instagram earlier this month from her college graduation in New York City.
“That’s a wrap. Thank you to my wonderful parents for giving me the gift of a full education. I feel truly grateful for this experience,” the aspiring actress wrote to accompany a selfie that featured herself with McGregor and Mavrakis. “AND that’s the last time I’m ever wearing bright purple. Peace out Bobcats.”
McGregor, 47, filed for divorce from Mavrakis, 51, on January 19, citing irreconcilable differences. It was first reported in October 2017 that the couple had split after 22 years of marriage, around the same time photos surfaced showing McGregor kissing Mary Elizabeth Winstead, 33, his co-star in Fargo. It was then reported that McGregor and Mavrakis had actually split in May earlier that year.
“I want to take a moment to just say thank you to Eve, who always stood by me for 22 years, and my four children Clara, Esther, Jamyan and Anouk,” the Scottish actor said on stage on January 7.
“And I’ve always loved being an actor and I love hanging out with actors and I got amazing actors to work with on this,” he continued.
“There wouldn’t have been Emmit Stussy without David Thewlis and Michael Stuhlbarg and Carrie Coon and there wouldn’t have been a Ray without Mary Elizabeth Winstead, so thank you very much.”
McGregor and Mavrakis, a French production designer, met on set of British TV series Kavanagh QC. They were married in 1995 and share four daughters: Clara, 22, Jamyan, 16, Esther, 15, and Anouk, 6. Esther made headlines of her own when she wrote and posted a song to Instagram that seemed to be about her parents’ divorce and how McGregor had moved on so quickly with Winstead.
